Our purpose as the Care Team at Discovery Church is to draw closer to God and to one another by using our varied skills, time, and gifts to care for and serve those in our church community who are in need by following Christ’s example.

Some examples of the way we serve one another is through provision of meals, acts of help, visitation, calls, cards and prayer.

Our inspiration comes from Matthew 25: 31-40. We believe that as we care for those in need, we are indeed doing these things for and to our Lord Jesus Christ, and that serving one another is a gift not just for those who have needs but for all who reach out to meet another’s need.

Our goals as a Care Team are:

• To ensure that every person in our church knows that we are here to help meet their needs
• To ensure that every person in our church knows how to reach out for help in a way that is comfortable and confidential
• To connect people in need with those in our church who have the resources to help
• To ensure that no on who has contacted our team for needs ever feels forgotten or overlooked

If you would like to speak to someone about a need, there are several ways you can do this. You may also email us at careteam at discovery-church.us or you can put a slip with your written request in the offering plate or the box on the table near the door to the gym at church on Sundays.

Our Care Team “members” are simply those who voice a desire to help. Each of us brings different things to offer so if you have something you would like to do or share with people in need we would love your participation on our team! You can do so by using the above contact information or use the contact form..

Prayer Partners

At Discovery Church, you have Prayer Partners; these volunteers have signed up to receive prayer requests so that you can be included in their prayers. The Prayer Partners are part of the Care Team and you can send a request to them several ways. You may also email us at prayer at discovery-church.us or you can put a slip with your written request in the offering plate or the box on the table near the door to the gym at church on Sundays. You’ll find prayer request cards in the seat pockets on Sundays. You don’t have to go it alone, let us lift you up in prayer.
